Situated on Vancouver Island, a retirement destination for Canadians due to the mild climate, there are many members 65 years and over. Nonetheless Nanaimo has a University (Vancouver Island University) which welcomes students from around the world. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino and many other areas are represented at our church through contact with students. The city of just under 100,000 has a church attendance rate of less than 10%.
