Children’s Elementary Pastor

Reports to:

Lead Pastor & the NFC Leadership Team

Job Summary (Full-time):

Provide leadership, preaching, teaching, and vision to NFC Christian formation, programming, and pastoral care for children, families, and volunteers, while intentionally collaborating with staff and community partners in outreach and compassionate ministry.



  • Children’s Christian Education and Core Programming

  • Care House Partnerships: CR-Kids/ASK/Family Circle (church's non-profit)

  • Leader of Leaders: CM Council/Ministry Teams/CM Interns/Volunteers/CMIT’s/Celebrate Recovery Children’s leaders

  • Special Events, Trips, and Seasonal Promotions

  • Communication to Families and Volunteers, with CM Admin Assistant

  • Pastoral Care for Children and Families

  • Pastoral Leadership Team

  • Run healthy, thriving teams and core-programming for 1-6th grade

  • Continue to diversify representation on the children’s ministry council, looking for gaps,

  • Facilitate ongoing idearion, dialogue, and planning for facility & program updates, 

    Job Duties:

    Christian Education – Sunday Core Programming

  • Plan annual and seasonal Bible-based curriculum, teaching Biblical literacy with Wesleyan Armenian understanding of scripture, in conjunction with all age-level staff,

  • Coordinate team of leaders for Sunday leadership team (tech, student LEAD team, band)

    Preach Good News in two Kids Worship Services each Sunday, for 1st grade-6th grade,

  • Oversee SS teaching teams and SS coordinators in five age-level Sunday School classes,

  • Empower leaders to serve as our CM greeters and foyer safety team in welcome area,

  • Coordinate Sunday curriculum themes and songs with Kids Worship Leader

       Collaborate with Treasure Cove drama director/cast for 4 shows, 2nd and    3rd Sundays,

• Coordinate Practically People Puppet leaders/youth in quarterly performances,

Chrisian Education – Mid-Week Programming & More

  • Plan curriculum, organize volunteers, co-lead games/stations for Wednesday Night Live,

  • Coordinate lay-leaders to run Wednesday Night Mix56 Preteen Ministry,page1image59900864

  • Act as liaison to Children’s Quizzing leaders, via quarterly emails and mee=ngs,

  • Act as liaison to Scout leaders via, quarterly emails and mee=ngs,

    Additional CHP Programming & Community Outreach

  • Plan CR-Celebration Place curriculum while coordinating volunteer team and sub list,

  • Coordinate weekly/monthly contacts to at-risk children and families through our A.S.K,

  • Plan A.S.K tutoring hours, either directly or in collaboration with special needs director, intern, tutoring team, and other NFC staff, as needed,

  • Represent NFC at Central Elementary School, by delivering monthly cakes to teachers, as well as updating tutoring paperwork, coverage of device fees, retaining/recruiting kids,

  • Check in with Family Circle leaders as they meet monthly, encourage social media networking and next steps for the foster/adoptive ministry to grow in itsoutreach,

  • Acend monthly Care House Partnerships meetings and quarterly fundraisers/iniatives,

    Leader of Leaders: CM Council/Ministry Teams/CM Interns/Volunteers/CMIT’s/Staff

  • Oversee children’s ministry interns’ hours and ministerial development, meet weekly,

  • Work with children’s ministry team members to coordinate, equip, and encourage

    children’s ministry volunteers through council meetings, periodic trainings, and seasonal volunteer apprecia=on and fellowship events,

  • Co-lead Preteen leadership retreat, discipleship nights, mission trip & LEAD team. 

  • Collaborate with CM lay-leaders, both at NFC and on the intermountain district, for promotion/coordination of seasonal age specific camps, retreats, special events, and special promotions (girls/boys camp, Christmas pageant, Faith Promise, NGL Kidzone)

  • Work with CMIT program and training, as teens serve in CM department,

  • Oversee CM annual budgeng, annual calendaring, and monthly Nexonia receipt upload

    Pastoral Care for Children and Families

  • Regular prayer for children and families in our church, our community, and our world,

  • Ongoing emails, texts, postcards, and one-on-one appointments with children/families

  • Recruit parents, and teens, to serve as new meaningfully engaged CM volunteers, following Ministry Safe training and guidelines.

    Pastoral Leadership Team

  • Daily check-in meetings,

  • Weekly staff meetings,

  • Quarterly offsite trainings and team building sessions,

  • Ongoing interdepartmental collaboration on on church wide vision/mission.
