 OFFICE MANAGER 
Reports to: Senior Pastor 
Classification: Hourly 
Job summary: This position is responsible for performing a variety of functions which involve the activities of clerical and office personnel. This person oversees all activities in the church office including supervision of the office personnel to perform secretarial and clerical duties and other duties as required. 
Essential responsibilities: 1. Assigns and distributes work of clerical staff, including work schedules, so that office hours have necessary coverage. 2. Supervises and trains the office staff and makes recommendations affecting office policy and personnel (interview and hiring of new office staff and ministry assistants). 3. Reviews correspondence and directs mail to appropriate ministry/department and answers routine telephone inquiries concerning church events. 4. Supervision, scheduling, support and regular appreciation of office volunteers. 5. Maintains and updates the filing system, phone system and master calendar, including all facility rental operations. 6. Assists pastors in a variety of administrative-detail matters and supervises office and non-technical operations. 7. Supervise maintenance of membership records and publication of directories. 8. Oversee purchase and inventory of office supplies including repairs of office equipment and recommendations for new equipment. 9. Maintain professional appearance of office area. 10. Administer expenses and income (not including tithe) in accordance with a balanced annual office budget. 11. Leads bi-weekly meeting with office staff for training and communication. 12. Compose and send out weekly e-newsletter 13. Communication hub for all church activities. 
Additional responsibilities (lay leader teams): Oversight of: pantry and kitchen communion holiday decorations bulletin boards church’s foyer, welcome desk and more 
Training, experience and abilities: 1. Must be a Christian 2. Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. 3. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher. 4. Ability to perform a variety of secretarial assignments requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment. 5. Ability to meet and deal effectively with pastors, associates, and the general public, including supervision of office staff. 6. Graduate Education Preferred 7. Two (2) years of secretarial and general clerical experience, one (1) year of which should have been at the full performance level. 
Hours / Days of service: 1. Tuesday through Friday (830am – 500pm) 2. Sunday (800am – Noon)3. Evenings as needed 
Starting Pay: $25 per hour.
