General Job Description:
We need a kids ministry director who is living committed to Jesus Christ. This commitment must be clearly evident in lifestyle, attitude, and spiritual desires displayed. We seek one with a definite God-given call and passion for assisting parents with the discipleship of kids.
We want an individual who wants to work well with a team of teachers, parents, and volunteers. We want an individual who will be confident enough to speak up and brainstorm ideas for the church as a whole. We want an individual who is teachable, humble, and confident in who God has called them to be in the life of the church. We want an individual who is passionate about growing in numbers, but also in making growing disciples. We want an individual who will see themselves as a disciple maker but also as a servant of parents by modeling the values of servanthood for their team.
Specific Job Qualifications:
Work with and encourage children (Birth-5th Grade) and parents practically in their faith.
Initiative to improve and grow as a leader and follower of Jesus.
Build relationships with children and parents.
Familiar with the Planning Center Online System or the ability to learn it quickly.
Passion to see others grow in their walk with Jesus.
Confident with technology in order to accomplish ministry objectives.
Coordinate well with other ministries.
Ability to teach, organize, set goals, and accomplish them.
Set goals and priorities to accomplish the mission of the church.
Be organized with space, goals, calendars, and methods.
Driven to grow in number and intentional about discipleship.
Associate Pastor and Director Reviews:
Every Associate Pastor/Minister/Director position is on an annual basis, which is reviewed annually with the option to renew. In order to ensure the growth and development of our Pastors, the Lead Pastor shall conduct a constructive review at the end of each church year. The purpose of this review is to give feedback, plus learn how the Associate Pastor is growing in their leadership and effectiveness and/or what areas need improvement. The goal of the review process is to encourage and develop the associate pastor to be successful in ministry.
Create a weekly opportunity for worship and discipleship for children.
Ensure safe check in and checkout procedures are in place.
Train and work well with your TEAM of volunteers.
Create opportunities and environments for parents to build relationships so they are not alone to wrestle with life alone.
Create opportunities for children to lead and be examples to the entire congregation.
Coordinate well with youth ministry to ensure a smooth transition from children to youth ministry.
Keep your area of ministry clean and organized.
Attend weekly staff meetings and submit monthly reports.
Attend monthly one on one meeting with the Lead Pastor for encouragement and accountability.
