Our current directors fill many shoes, such as counseling, working through other organizations such as Salvation Army, Red Cross and our own Nazarene Compassionate Ministries to help (lost) people in many ways, whether through giving them hope or help in a case by case basis. The executive site director is an advocate for the communities in which we serve to get involved and active within.
Current programs the ROCC is involved in include financial assistance with limited funding for immediate emergency assistance, life skill training, children’s day camp and café, comfort center for individuals to get out of the heat or cold, back to school outreach program, tornado shelter, disaster shelter and training center for the American Red Cross, assistance given to families of fires and disasters through our Disaster Action Team members working through the American Red Cross, and 5K run/walk to raise funds for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for families in need. We currently work with FEMA and SEMA on an ongoing basis where we have brought in work teams from around the country to help with disasters in our own area, such as ice, tornado and flood damage.
