  • Spouse who is supportive of ministry goals…staff and spouse’s positive participation in the total life of the church (attendance of the services, celebrations, board retreats, etc.).
  • Willing to attend both local and national professional workshops and seminars.

     

    Staff Relations:

     

  • Be accountable directly to the Lead Pastor.
    • A minimum 8 hours per week is expected.
    • Provide written report of ministry progress as requested.  
    • Submit to an annual review and self-evaluation of ministry performance.
  • Attend all staff meetings and be prepared to report on current ministry activities.
  • Attend church board meetings when requested, as a non-voting participant.
  • Cooperate fully and work in harmony with the entire staff for the good of the church.
  • Consult the Lead Pastor on plans and policies.

     

    Position Description Purpose – To plan, administer, supervise, and coordinate an active ministry in the area of worship.  

    Scope – The position is viewed as pastor/shepherd to people involved in worship.

     

    1.        Facilitate a dynamic and vibrant weekly worship experience in cooperation with the Lead Pastor.

    2.        Coordinate the ministry of all musicians, singers, and drama. 

    3.        Work with the necessary personnel in the selection of all music including instrumental, solo, ensemble and dramatic material to be used in worship services and productions. Communicate selected music to band, singers, and video team in a timely manner. Provide music (hardcopy) for practices and services to band members and singers.

    4.        Schedule band members and singers and communicate said schedules.

    5.        Schedule all worship team practices. Confirm facility availability, audio/visual team, and set up team.

    6.        Lead worship practices. Bring the band and singers to a place of prayer and worship in each practice. Give guidance to the band and singers regarding platform etiquette.

    7.        Assure the platform is clear of all clutter before each service.

  • Serve as worship leader for all worship services. Lead the congregation into a spirit of prayer and worship in preparation for the message. Seek to use scriptures and testimony to enhance worship.

    9.        Plan for Christmas, Easter, and other special occasion outreach ministries in cooperation with the Lead Pastor.

  • Notify the Lead Pastor upon anticipation of absence.

    11.     Other duties as assigned
