New Life Leader/Minister of Discipleship & Connections
Primary focus (85-90%) is to oversee the paths of newcomers becoming vitally connected, and new Christ-followers growing into fully-devoted disciples.
Our mantra for our top leaders is Recruit, Resource, Release.
Oversee life groups, connect groups, and classes. Clarify purpose/goals. Suggest and approve materials/curriculum. Recruit, Resource, Release, encourage, invest in group leaders and teachers.
Oversee hospitality teams: Clarify purpose/goals. Recruit, Resource, Release, encourage, invest in team members.
Oversee our follow-up process of newcomers.
Recruit, Resource, Release ministry leaders to oversee teams in specific areas of connection and discipleship.
Identify markers or next steps along the paths of connection and discipleship, and identify measurables to assess if people are connecting, and are maturing into fully-devoted disciples of Christ.
Be proactive with new approaches, strategies, and infrastructure for connecting and discipling people.
Help New Life become a praying church.
Help Lifers grow in spiritual practices/disciplines (scripture study, prayer, reflection/meditation, serving, stewardship, accountability, confession, worship, sharing Jesus with others…).
Assist Lifers in understanding how they can best serve God and others in ways that best fit their gifts, personality, passions, and experiences.
Be proactive in helping New Life with digital strategies and methods for the purpose of connection and discipleship.
Facilitate mentoring relationships.
Partner with and resource Teen Life and Kid Life with discipleship strategies for children and teens.
Lead the way on membership class and baptism class.
The other 10-15%...
Provide leadership in other small ministry area(s) based on passion or capacity, with approval from lead pastor.
Share pastoral care responsibilities with other team members.
Special leadership projects as agreed upon with the lead pastor or executive pastor.
Participate in staff meetings and other meetings/gatherings pertinent to this role.
