The Youth Ministry Pastor shall serve as the primary person responsible for the ministry of Middle School & High School Students grade 6th through 12th and their families. Youth Ministry at Crossing Church is designed to care for the spiritual growth and nurturing of our students. We believe that spiritual formation best occurs in conjunction with family participation in church, church activities, family interaction and a Godly example by parents.
1. To lead, supervises, and coordinates all ministries to students, 6th through 12th grade and their families. To provide effective promotion and visibility of the ministry to the church body at large using website, periodic student & parent meetings, email, social media, etc. 2. Lead youth ministry volunteers by providing them with resources to be successful as a mentor and leader, and to also provide leadership development to these adults. 3. To develop and submit an annual budget request for all youth ministry areas, and to oversee expenditures to maintain budget. 4. To plan and coordinate all ministries and activities throughout the church year. 5. To recruit and train leaders. 6. To assist and equip student lay leaders and small group leaders, in the regular contact/visitation of students they are mentoring. 7. To choose and order appropriate curriculum and materials and equip leaders for all classes and discipleship functions. 8. To provide every student with the opportunity to accept Christ as their personal Savior, to encourage every student to consider the way God might speak about their future ministry, giving special focus to missions. 9. To educate and prepare students for baptism and church membership. 10. To guide and direct the functions of the Youth Worship Praise Team and Band.
Special / Seasonal Events
1. To oversee, plan, promote, and implement a comprehensive schedule of summer activities including sports, camp, mission, and Main Event.
