Gallatin First Church of the Nazarene is a strong and vibrant church with a great history and an exciting future. Our church is searching for the right person to become our full time children’s pastor. GFCN has a mission to go and make Christlike disciples. Our vision is to be a people who create environments where everyone can experience the love of Jesus Christ. Strategically we have a three-fold emphasis on gathering, growing, and going. That strategy is implemented by putting our resources into creating environments where people can worship, fellowship, learn, and serve.
My ministry philosophy as a lead pastor is that the church is to love people and let God change them. This has proven to be an effective way to engage ministry and the gospel. Our church life revolves around our understanding that God is love and that love is what Christianity is all about.
We are looking for a person to provide high energy and creative leadership to our children's ministries. This is a pastoral role to children and to families that have children. The primary requirement is a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear ministerial calling to children's ministry. People skills are important for the cultivation of volunteers in the children's department as well as communication and ministry with parents. One of the key responsibilities will be to help the church define what children's ministry should look like for our church, and implement that vision.
Being a self-starter with strong organizational skills is important - you will receive leadership, guidance, and accountability from the lead pastor, but you will not be micro-managed. It is expected that you will be passionate and enthusiastic about pastoral ministry and will develop a vision for ministry that aligns with the vision of the lead pastor.
We are a multi-staff church with a full time lead pastor, pastor of worship and community, and youth pastor. We also have a part time facilities manager and a part time office manager. Our church board is visionary and forward looking. We have a high functioning team that has a blast and gets the work done to advance the mission of the church. The church has a strong laity and a very generous disposition. This is a very fun place to work and serve.
Gallatin is a growing community and sits just northeast of Nashville. The town is an excellent place to live and raise a family. We have great schools, excellent community life, all the stores and restaurants you could want, fantastic recreation and entertainment opportunities and the thriving city of Nashville just down the road. We are also in close proximity to many various nature opportunities for those more outdoor minded.
God is doing great things here, and maybe you can be a part of it! If this position sounds interesting, and like something that may be God's will for your life, please send your resume. You can contact the Lead Pastor Kevin Rector at firstname.lastname@example.org. A full job description is available upon request.
