  • Congregation age demographic: few teens & children. Primarily adults
  • Growing Congregation with young families
  • Very few live inside a 4 mile radius from the church

Job Description



Position Objective: To lead children (birth through 5th grade) and their families to a forward moving relationship with Jesus Christ.


Position Description: The children’s pastor/director is responsible for oversight of all children’s ministries and ministry leaders.  They must be a visionary, creative and embrace change.  This is a leader who can communicate an inspiring direction and move people toward a pursuit of the vision of Life Spring Community.  The leader must equip parents to be the pastors of their children.

3  Commitment to the mission, values, and worship philosophy of Life Spring Community.


4   Demonstrates growth and success as a children’s leader.


5   Proven ability to raise up and train new leaders.






1  A heart for the spiritual formation of those in the church and the children’s ministry.


2  Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading children as well as the church.


3  Willingness to learn and to grow in ministry.



4  Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships.






1  Oversee all ministry for children ages birth – 5th grade, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, special events, etc…


2  Choose and prepare curriculum for each program and each age level.


3  Create environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.


4  Recruit, train, schedule and lead volunteers.


5  Provide care for children and families within the church including hospital visits and follow-up.


6  Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.


7  Plan and oversee special events such as VBS
