Youth Pastor

 The purpose of the Youth Pastor is to provide vision and leadership in support of the Mission of Paz Naz, and to create spaces for worship, fellowship, justice, evangelism, and discipleship to students at PazNaz and in the neighborhood.

Anticipated Commitments

·         Preparation for ministry: Forty - Fifty hours a week, off on Saturday and one day during week, except for vacations, emergencies and special occasions.


·          Participation in meetings/training: regular attendance at staff meetings, committee meetings, and all regularly scheduled congregational services and meetings. 


·         Working relationships: There is an expectation that the Youth Pastor will meet regularly and have a working relationship of trust with the Senior Pastor, Executive pastor, Inter-generational Pastors, and with all PazNaz Staff.

·         As a Christian, it is distinctive that we are sent ones (Acts 1:8). As sent ones, we must submit ourselves to the authority of King Jesus who shapes us and forms us for mission. Therefore, it is critical that the Youth Pastor has a commitment to regular Bible reading, prayer, Christian fellowship and accountability, confession, personal worship, learning, growing, and Sabbath.

·         The Youth Pastor will model a deep relationship with Christ to the congregation.

·         The Youth Pastor will lead those in the ministry into a deeper relationship with Christ.


…And join Christ on mission in our local and global neighborhoods.


·         The Youth Pastor will see her/his primary responsibility to enthusiastically implement the mission and vision of the church by creating formational spaces for students and their families that inspire and equip them for mission.




-          Establish a clear vision for student ministries that is in line with the mission, vision, and core values of PazNaz.

-          Intentionally build bridges between the students and families in the intercultural ministries, and develop a cohesive intercultural youth ministry.

-          Create welcoming, inclusive, hospitable, and warm spaces for students from every socioeconomic and cultural background that reflects the Acts 2 and Revelation 21 worshipping community.

-          Plan, develop, implement, and manage a vibrant and comprehensive ministry that is intercultural, intergenerational, and missional for students 6th – 12th grade.

-          Serve as an advocate, role model, spiritual mentor, and encourager providing pastoral care to students, their families, and ministry volunteers.

-          Pray weekly for students, families, and ministry volunteers.

-          Provide leadership for Sunday morning programs for 6th – 12th grade students.  Recruit, train, and supervise team members, plan, organize, implement, support and oversee all aspects of Sunday morning programs 6th – 8th grade worship and Sunday School,

-          Handle administrative tasks associated with PazNaz Student Ministries such as communications, social media, scheduling, budget tracking and reporting, maintaining supplies, responding to requests timely, reviewing curriculum, and meeting with team members.

-          Identify and implement new opportunities for outreach and spiritual growth for students.

-          Work with local Junior High Schools and High Schools to visit school lunches and attend sporting events to build relationships with students.

-          Create meaningful ways to assist and equip parents as primary leaders in the spiritual formation of their students.

-          Communicate with and include parents as the most integral part of PazNaz Student Ministries.  Consult with, pray with and meet with parents regularly to discuss concerns, ideas, expectations, and suggestions.

-          Develop a system to welcome and follow up with new students and families.

-          Creatively plan, implement, and teach Wednesday night programming.

-          Recruit, disciple, and sustain a team of volunteer leaders

-          Teach and equip youth and leaders in small and large settings

-          Develop a regular 12-month calendar rhythm for PazNaz Student Ministries.

-          Plan and organize events, trips, and retreats for outreach, discipleship, and service projects.
