6-9 month Leadership Development Program at Upper Valley Community Church
Upper Valley Community Church (UVCC) is a vibrant, growing church committed to partner with God in “changing lives that change lives.” UVCC is in Piqua, OH (30 miles north of Dayton, Ohio) and is a growing congregation of about 700 people. We are a part of the Church of the Nazarene denomination but are excited to partner with students of many Christian backgrounds. Check out www.uvcc.org for more information, to take a virtual tour and watch our live streaming worship services.
This Leadership Development Program (LDP) combines hands-on experience in a key area of ministry at UVCC with practical leadership training and valuable life experiences. This 6-9 month residency LDP is for those who are looking to grow as a leader and impact a local church and community for Christ. Areas of ministry in which you could lead according to your passions, skills & gifting include: worship, venue host/pastor, children, youth, life groups, audio/visual technology & production and office administration. We want to offer you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in virtually any area of the church to grow as a leader and better serve a local church into the future!
LDP – Who is it for?
The LDP is designed for young Christian leaders who desire to grow and be challenged in a work environment. This program is not only for those studying for vocational ministry but for anyone who desires to serve a local church and grow as a leader. We are looking for and expecting the best of the best. We want to hire sharp, fun, caring, responsible individuals who have ambition and take initiative. Additionally, we are looking for those who are further along in their college education (in his/her junior-senior year).
LDP – The Commitment
The LDP is a 6-9 month commitment. As a member of the LDP you will become part of the church staff at UVCC and live in the area with a host family for 6-9 months. We call LDP participants “staff” because you are going to lead an area of ministry. It is your opportunity to make a difference in the ministries here while learning practical leadership skills along the way.
Each LDP staff is expected to spend 20 hours per week working in a specific area of ministry and participating in the LDP leadership training course activities. Concurrently, we encourage you to continue taking courses for your schooling online.
In addition to free housing with a host family, we will also cover the costs of your training materials and books, help you gain invaluable real-life ministry experience and provide you with a monthly stipend.
The LDP selection process is competitive and only those with the strongest qualifications will be selected. Submit questions or your resume to: email@example.com(s) of ministry you would like to grow your leadership in.
We are excited about the possibility of journeying with you to help you develop & grow as a Christian leader in this next year!
