EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR / CAMP MANAGER

Camp Maranatha is a year around camp facility that is owned and operated by the Alaska District Church of the Nazarene, located just outside Big Lake, Alaska. We are looking for an individual or couple with a heart for camp ministry. Their role would be to oversee, administrate, continued development, maximize the facilities, and enrich the lives of those whom you serve.
´ A Christ follower that daily seeks and tries to reflect Jesus Christ.
´ A love for, a desire to, and a commitment to serve all ages in Christian camping.
´ A heart of hospitality to make groups feel welcomed and meet their needs.
´ Agreement with and adherence to the doctrinal statement of the Church of the Nazarene
´ Prefer a BachelorÔs Degree in Business or Camp/Recreation Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Ministry or related fields of study.
´ Experience supervising employees
´ Two or more years of camp experience preferred
´ Substantial leadership experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Coordin ate the scheduling of camp use.
b. Complete contracts with groups requesting use of the camp
c. Welcome groups and provide direction/assistance as necessary.
d. Oversee the management and maintenance of facilities and grounds.
e. Commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the camps operations.
f. Oversee compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
g. Supervise and coordinate employees and/or volunteers to run different aspects of the camp.
h. Other miscellaneous office duties as necessary.
a. Maintain fiscal management of the ministry
b. Work within the financial and resource limitations of the camp.
c. Maintain integrity of the collection of deposits and payments from individual or groups.
d. Process receipts and payables for the camp in a timely manner.
e. Work with camp treasurer to create a proposed annual operating budget.
a. Ensure the camp is well maintained.
b. Update or create and maintain an on-going preventative maintenance program.
c. Responsibilities include clearing snow and keeping the camp operational year round.
d. Other miscellaneous grounds and maintenance duties as they arise.
4. Kitchen Operation & Oversight
a. Plan, order groceries and prepare quality, cost effective meals in a timely manner for 20 to 200 campers.
b. Supervise and coordinate employees and/or volunteers to run different aspects of the kitchen and snack bar (including menus, purchasing, cooking, serving, etc.).
c. Achieve and maintain health department certification in food preparation (Safe Serve Certificate).
5. Facility Operation & Oversight
a. Supervise and coordinate employees and/or volunteers to run different aspects of the custodial needs.
b. Perform custodial duties as necessary.
c. Maintain a clean, orderly camp.
a. Good interpersonal skills, able to work with volunteers and employees.
b. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
c. ShepherdÔs heart for people.
d. Must be able to take initiative, yet be a team player.
a. Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ through study of the Word, prayer, and worship.
b. Lead and shepherd spouse and children as God has commanded in his Word.
c. Utilize spiritual gifts and professional experience to further the kingdom of God.
d. Be a life-long learner.
