JOLIET FIRST WORSHIP PASTOR
Position Objective: To spiritually lead a multi-cultural community to meaningful and moving worship.
Position Description: The worship leader is responsible for oversight of all worship services and worship teams. They must be a visionary, creative and embrace change. This is a leader who can communicate an inspiring direction and moves people toward a pursuit of that vision. This position requires the individual to serve not solely as a musical or performing arts director but one who is responsible for the spiritual formation of the people they serve.

2 Commitment to reach, help and restore the lost, poor, disenfranchised and marginalized.
3 Commitment to the mission, values, and worship philosophy of Joliet First.
4 Demonstrated growth and success as worship leader.
5 Preferred experience of leading multi-cultural initiatives and worship services
6 Proven ability of raising and training new leaders/ musicians.
1 A pastor as well as a musician. This does not mean ordained.
2 A heart for the spiritual formation of those in the church and the worship ministry.
3 Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading a church.
4 Willingness to learn and listen.
5 Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction.
6 Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships.
7 Skilled in the use of technology regarding worship (sound, lighting, computers, etc.)
8 Ability to incorporate other art forms as needed.
1 Growing relationship and search for Jesus through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Prayer, Community Groups, accountability, scripture reading and fellowship of Joliet First.
2 Spend time developing relationships outside the walls of the church with lost people and helping the people of JF do the same.
3 Build the necessary teams to carry out the worship areas of JF.
4 Plan the worship services of JF in consultation with the creative team and Lead Pastor. Plan services with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness. Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service advance the theme for the day. Oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists, vocalists, and dramatists of JF
5 Serve as lead worshiper in all worship services of JF
6 Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in services at JF
7 Provide pastoral care for the worship teams and choirs.
8 Introduce our worship teams and choirs to worship training provided by other ministries, books, and conferences.
9 Oversee the worship department budget, organization, and volunteers.
10 Intentionally build contacts and relationships with local musicians, studios, and clubs.
11 Set annual goals for the worship ministry that are in line with our vision and then evaluate how those goals were attained or modified during the year.
12 Attend weekly staff and creative planning meetings.
