The POFM is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of pre-school thru College. This includes leadership of weekly programs and periodic special events as indicated. They work with youth volunteers and assist in planning events, programming youth ministry as well as assist in recruiting volunteers. They work with the children’s director and assist in planning events, programming Sunday morning kids ministries as well as assist in recruiting volunteers.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Age Appropriate Environments (Gather)
Teach and train others to teach in New Life Kids Ministry
Provide age appropriate curriculum that is centered on Jesus, highlights core values, equips leaders to lead, and is fun
Ensure proper child physical, emotional, and social safety in all Student and New Life Kid environments and events
Develop worship environments and teams that help students/kids connect with God
Provide fun games and activities where students/kids can connect with leaders and one another
Recruiting and Developing Leaders (Grow)
Recruit and develop middle school adult mentors to lead groups (Table Groups/Growth Groups)
Develop a Student ministry leadership team
Activate the Spiritual Development of Students (Go)
Provide and promote materials for students to spend time hearing from God
Ensure students are getting connected to serving within the life of the church
Special Events
Develop events intended to move students to Gather, Grow, Go (Winter Retreat, Summer Camp, Mission Trip, etc.)
Participate in District Summer Camp
Various other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS This position requires some experience as a staff/volunteer member in a student ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical studies or related field is required. The successful individual will have a Christian profession, and be a strong leader with a solid work ethic, possessing a passion for teaching students about God and the ability to administrate as a department head. Working knowledge of creative programming related to student programs and special events is a real plus.
