We are looking for an intern who is interested in learning and participating in a multi-ethnic, intergenerational, urban church. We are located in a city on the southeastern side of Chicago.
Our community and our congregation is diverse in age and ethnicity. Our church is only 2 years old, and our ministry is very organic. During the summer we host mission teams, a vacation Bible school, and a large back to school block party. We also have worship services each Sunday, and are hoping to gain some creativity from the right candidate as we collaborate on were God is leading us.
We are looking for someone who is open to learning, interested in issues pertaining to racial and economic justice, and who would love experience preaching, teaching, and a myriad of other tasks. This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking experience in any pastoral capacity, whether it be youth ministry of senior pastoral ministry.
This opportunity is open to college students and others who would like to gain experience in an urban setting. Being bi-lingual in Spanish and English is helpful, but not required.
We are able to provide room and board, and a small stipend.
