The Worship Tech Director will primarily oversee the Audio, Video, and Lighting (AVL) processes to support the ministries of the worship services at the Southside Church campuses. This position reports to the Worship Ministry Team Leader and will be responsible for the volunteer teams and oversight of the technology portion of the service preparation and production through the ministries of sound, lighting, video, image magnification, recording, and photography.

▪ Oversee the technology portion of service preparation and production through the ministries of sound, lighting, video, image magnification, recording both Audio and Video
▪ Be a resource for technical questions and issues that accompany the AVL systems for all departments
▪ Conduct training as directed to facilitate services and technical needs for services
▪ Work with the Creative Team and Church Leadership Team to film and edit videos for church-wide usage
▪ Manage the budget and resources of the media department
▪ Create graphics for church-wide usage in coordination with the Communications Director
▪ Design and implement creative stage settings
▪ Secure and schedule media volunteers for weekend services and special events
▪ Assist in finalizing service flows for weekends and special events
▪ Planning and creating lighting design to be used in weekend worship services
▪ Coordinate technological and creative elements for all service venues/campuses
o Live campuses/venues
o Video venues
o Streaming venue/campuses
▪ Communicate the media content and operation needs to the media team during pre-service meetings


▪ Undergraduate degree specializing in at least one of the following creative media arts categories: Graphic Design / Video Production / Audio Engineering / Live Production
▪ Experience in Media/AVL ministry (i.e. Internships / volunteer leadership / team membership)
▪ Experience in live sound mixing applications as well as recording and mastering audio
▪ Experience and knowledge with all that is involved in producing videos and the equipment that it requires (script, location, audio, lighting, filming, editing, exporting and the many video codecs)
▪ A working knowledge of current video editing, graphic design, and sound recording software (AdobeCC, Logic, etc)
▪ Self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented, thick-skinned, flexible, not afraid of conflict, and can work well under pressure
▪ Strong focus on process improvement and planning
▪ A team player who enjoys seeing others succeed and has an acute ear for listening
▪ A stickler for excellence
▪ Prepared to relocate to the Chesterfield, VA area

WILLINGNESS TO LEARN (previous knowledge and experience is a plus)

▪ Leading teams of contractors and volunteers


The most important aspect of this position is the spiritual character and integrity of the Worship Media Director. This person should also demonstrate administrative skills, possess spiritual sensitivity, and exhibit these qualities in everyday life. The Worship Technologies Director must be a Team Leader for those in the Foyer and Worship Department and a Team Player with the Director of Operations, the Lead Pastor, staff and members.
