SBFN is a church all about reaching people--young and old, rich and poor, degreed and GED'd, black and white and everything in between--with the hope of the gospel. Our mission statement is simple and is based upon Jesus' model of ministry when here on earth: Gathering, Preparing, and Sending Followers of Christ. We are a multi-staff church that averages about 175 in worship on Sundays. We have approximately 40 children and 15 teens during Children's Worship and Youth Group.
We are currently looking to hire a Director of Student Ministries. The Director of Student Ministries will be responsible for shepherding the Jr. and Sr. High (and possibly college-age, depending on experience) of the church. Because this is a part time position, we're not seeking someone who will do all the ministry within this area, but rather someone who will give direction and leadership to the servant volunteers in those ministries. In other words, the Director of Student Ministries will not be the only one ministering, but will develop and work closely with a team of volunteers to reach our youth for Christ.
At this point, this position is a part time only position. It may eventually become a full time one, but to be fair and honest, no promises can be made. What we can say is that there is a great opportunity for personal, professional, and spiritual growth as part of a team of people called to a common goal of reaching our community for Jesus.
Our basic requirements are that you have a strong Christian walk and that you have at least several years of experience in youth ministry and are willing to reach out and love the youth and their families of this church. Nazarene denominational credentials are a bonus.
If you feel at all like this might be something God is leading you into, please don't hesitate to write and begin the conversation. We've seen Him do some amazing things under similar circumstances in the past, and we believe He's going to do the same here.
Btw, our new website is currently under construction, so if you go there, unfortunately you will be unable to find any current information. We are, however, on Facebook under the church's name.
